Jeanne Lanette Robertson, who was born on November 16, 1968, passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 58, following a lengthy illness. Her death has brought sadness to her family, friends, former classmates, and all who had the privilege of knowing her throughout her life.

Jeanne’s life was shaped by her education, her family connections, her friendships, and the places she called home. A proud Louisiana native and lifelong supporter of the LSU Tigers, she spent much of her adult life in California before returning to Louisiana during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jeanne was a graduate of the Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts in Natchitoches, where she completed her studies in 1986. She later attended Louisiana State University, graduating in 1990.

Her connection to LSU remained an important part of her identity throughout her life. Forever a Tiger fan, Jeanne carried her affection for her alma mater wherever life took her.

Although she spent the majority of her life in California, returning to Louisiana during the pandemic brought her closer to the state and community that had shaped her early years. Her life was marked by the relationships she maintained with family and friends across different chapters of her journey.

Jeanne was also remembered for the love she had for her beloved pet, Mashmello, affectionately known as MASH. The loss of her favorite fur baby was another meaningful part of her personal story and the memories she leaves behind.

Family and Loved Ones

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Gene Robertson and Mary Chandler Robertson. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Merritt Robertson and Frank and Geraldine Chandler, as well as her beloved fur baby, Mashmello, or MASH.

She leaves behind family members and loved ones who will continue to cherish her memory, including her sister Leslie Cobb and her husband, Kenny; Claire Beaird and her husband, Grant; Casey Cobb; and her great-nephew Clyde Beaird.

She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends who shared meaningful memories with her throughout her life.

For those closest to Jeanne, her passing represents the loss of a beloved family member and friend. The memories created over the years will remain a lasting reminder of the place she held in their lives.

Memorial Service and Visitation

Jeanne’s life will be celebrated during a memorial service on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home. Jon Gimber will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held before the memorial service, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home. The gathering will give family, friends, and loved ones an opportunity to come together, offer condolences, share memories, and celebrate Jeanne’s life.

The memorial service will provide a meaningful opportunity to honor the woman Jeanne was and the relationships she built throughout her 58 years.

Gratitude for Her Care

Jeanne’s family also expressed appreciation to the staff of LaSalle General Hospital for the care provided to her, with special thanks extended to Dr. Barnard.

Their care and compassion during Jeanne’s illness are remembered with gratitude by those who were close to her.
