The Seymour community is mourning the tragic loss of Pascual Baltazar-Pascual, 42, who died following a serious two-vehicle collision in southern Bartholomew County on August 20, 2026.

According to the Indiana State Police, the crash occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. on State Road 11 near County Road 800 South. Troopers from the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post and other emergency responders were called to the scene after receiving reports of a severe collision.

Fatal State Road 11 Collision

Preliminary findings from Master Trooper Korry Clark indicate that a 2009 Pontiac G6 traveling northbound on State Road 11 crossed the centerline and entered the path of a southbound 2020 Hyundai Sonata.

The Hyundai was being driven by 18-year-old Aparicio Martin-Bartolome of Seymour. The two vehicles collided nearly head-on in the southbound lane before both left the roadway and came to rest.

Several people were injured and transported for medical treatment. The 17-year-old Columbus girl driving the Pontiac was taken to an Indianapolis-area hospital with serious injuries. Martin-Bartolome was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital, while a 15-year-old juvenile passenger in the Hyundai was also taken to an Indianapolis-area hospital.

Pascual was seated in the front passenger seat of the Hyundai and suffered fatal injuries. The Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The investigation was assisted by the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Regional Hospital EMS, Columbus Fire Department, Columbus Township Fire and Rescue, and the Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office.
