Cherokee County, Georgia — A domestic dispute at a business parking lot in Cherokee County resulted in a stabbing incident Thursday afternoon, leaving two people injured and leading to an active investigation by local authorities.

According to information released by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 2:30 p.m. to a reported altercation in the parking lot of a Chick-fil-A on Highway 92 near Interstate 75.

Authorities said the incident involved a mother and daughter, both of whom suffered injuries during the confrontation. Following the altercation, the mother reportedly entered the restaurant, where Acworth Police officers who were already at the location provided assistance and helped arrange for emergency medical response.

The injured woman was transported to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital for additional medical treatment. Officials have not released further information regarding the seriousness of her injuries or her current condition.

Vehicle Located After Incident

Investigators said the daughter left the scene in a vehicle with two children and traveled north on Interstate 75. Authorities were able to locate the vehicle using automated license plate reader technology.

The vehicle was later stopped in Whitfield County during a felony traffic stop. Officials confirmed that the two children inside the vehicle were not injured during the incident or the subsequent response.

The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office assisted law enforcement during the stop, and temporary traffic impacts were reported while authorities handled the situation.

Investigation Continues

The Chick-fil-A location connected to the incident was closed for the remainder of the evening as investigators continued gathering information and processing the scene.
