A serious train collision in Lake Forest, Illinois, left a man injured Friday morning after a freight train struck a vehicle near Old Mill Road and Waukegan Road, according to local authorities.

Lake Forest police and fire crews responded to the scene shortly after 11:30 a.m. following reports of a vehicle being hit by a southbound freight train. Emergency responders arrived quickly and began assessing the situation while authorities secured the area.

According to police, a Kansas City Southern freight train traveling from Milwaukee to Bensenville struck a vehicle with a man in his 50s inside. The driver was transported to Condell Medical Center in serious condition for further medical treatment.
