LINCOLN, Calif. — August 19, 2026 — A stabbing incident at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, California, has left five people injured and prompted a significant response from law enforcement and emergency crews.
According to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the casino Wednesday evening following reports of a stabbing. Authorities later confirmed that a suspect was taken into custody and that there was no ongoing threat to the public.
The incident reportedly began shortly after 7 p.m. when emergency communications received reports of a person armed with a knife inside the casino. Initial radio traffic indicated that a caller reported a casino employee was allegedly involved in an altercation involving a manager before the situation escalated.
Around the same time, another caller reported hearing sounds that were believed to be gunshots near the Dos Coyotes area and described people leaving the area. The caller did not confirm seeing a firearm.
Deputies entered the casino with assistance from security personnel and began searching for potential victims and the person believed to be responsible. Shortly after their arrival, officers located injured individuals and began coordinating emergency medical assistance.
By approximately 7:07 p.m., security personnel reported two injured employees, with medical personnel already providing assistance. A short time later, deputies confirmed additional stabbing victims near service elevators.
As the investigation continued, more victims were located throughout the property. Reports indicated that a female victim was found inside Dos Coyotes with a neck injury, while two male victims were located in a nearby hallway. A manager was also later found with cuts and was evaluated by emergency responders.
Authorities reported that a total of five stabbing victims had been identified. Emergency crews treated and assessed those injured as deputies continued securing the scene and gathering information.
The Dos Coyotes area was reportedly closed while investigators processed the scene. An incident command area was also established as law enforcement worked to determine the events leading up to the stabbing.
The Placer County Sheriff’s Office later confirmed that deputies were investigating a reported stabbing at Thunder Valley Casino Resort and that a suspect was in custody. Officials emphasized that there was no active threat to the community.
At this time, authorities have not released additional details regarding the suspect’s identity, the relationship between the suspect and victims, the motive, or the full extent of the injuries sustained.
